Ash Wednesday day of Prayer, Non-silent Retreat for Men and Women
In this Ash Wednesday Day of Prayer, we consider how
we will follow Christ through Lent, that, enlivened by the
breath of the Spirit, our sometimes somber hearts and
communities might rise into Hope and Love and Life.
Fr. Gerald F. Hudson, S.J., Fr. Jerry was, for many years, a mathematics teacher (at Loyola High School, Loyola Marymount University, and St. Ignatius College Preparatory). He has served several times as a director in the JRC 36-day program. He joined the staff of the JRC in August of 2006 and has been involved in retreats and spiritual direction.
Mrs. Helen Bunje holds a Master's Degree in Applied Theology from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. In addition to her twenty five years in ministry as a spiritual director, she has served as a pastoral minister at Stanford University Hospital, lecturer in Pastoral Studies at St. Patrick's Seminary in Menlo Park, on the faculty of the summer Internship in the Art of Spiritual Direction at Mercy Center, and on various retreats at the Jesuit Retreat Center in Los Altos. Her husband is a Permanent Deacon in the Diocese of San Jose.
Assisting
Bro. Thomas Koller, S.J. first came to The Jesuit Retreat Center over
40 years ago while discerning his own vocation to religious
life; so he comes full circle with this present asignment.
Most recently Brother was stationed for 12 years at St. Ignatius
College Prep in San Francisco, working in school administration,
and moderating some student activities. Earlier he was assigned
as part of the staff of Father General in Rome, where he assisted
Father General at the American Assistancy desk. He also spent
many years as manager at the now closed Novitiate Winery in
Los Gatos where, for almost a century, the California Jesuits
produced sacramental and commercial wines as a means of support
for the young Jesuits in formation for California Province.
