Retreat Director

Joanne Parrilli, Justice,
Court of Appeals (Ret.)
"In a world that gets noisier by the minute, we have to slow down and “turn up” the silence in order to hear God. If we don’t make time to get away and develop this relationship, all our relationships suffer. Jesus invited us to come away and rest with him awhile; going on a retreat is like taking Him up on the offer."
Joanne Parrilli, Justice,
Court of Appeals (Ret.) ,
Retreat Director
Joanne Parrilli retired in 2007 from the Court of Appeal in San Francisco. She is a student at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley as well as a mediator and arbitrator. She has been a spiritual director for seven years and has worked on retreats for the California Province of the Jesuits, the University of San Francisco, and the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. She taught a Prayer & Meditation class at USF Law School, and has been on the RCIA team at Newman Hall Holy Spirit Parish (Berkeley) for the past 9 years. Educated by Jesuits and Benedictines, and having returned in 1988 to the Church after a 20 year “wander,” Joanne enjoys being Catholic, but sees her relationship with God as the most important aspect of her faith.
Retreat Justice Parrilli will be assisting with this season:
